Atta Kwarkye, M.A.

Atta Kwarkye is a PhD student at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Bayreuth. His research explores the convergence of digital infrastructure, energy systems, and everyday life in Kenya, with a particular focus on how this convergence shapes lived experiences. He holds an Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in African studies from the European Interdisciplinary Master African Studies consortium (EIMAS) and a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Rural Development from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His academic and professional background spans infrastructure studies, climate change, energy access, digital systems, renewable energy, and the integration of artificial intelligence into community-centred development. Atta has experience in teaching, community sanitation, and hygiene promotion. His work is driven by a commitment to justice principles, poverty reduction, and sustainable transitions.
