Overall objective
Research and development of strategies to promote active lifestyles in various settings (kindergarten, school, workplace, and community) by improving individual skills and organizational structures.

Secondary objectives

  • Strengthening the capacities of key individuals at the community level regarding the development of physical activity-based health promotion measures for men aged 50 and older.
  • Supporting working groups in implementing programs to promote physical activity among men aged 50 and older
  • Application of a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative methods) to evaluate the process and outcomes of this complex intervention.

Development and implementation of interventions:

  • Identification of needs, requirements, and barriers within the target group
  • Establishment of working groups with key community members to develop context-specific programs for physical and sports activities


Process and outcome evaluation:

  • Analysis of the group process, group development, and the joint implementation of measures to promote physical and sports activities
  • Assessment of knowledge, awareness, acceptance, and accessibility of the created programs within the target group


Data collection: 
Standardized quantitative survey of the target group, semi-standardized qualitative interviews with the target group, focus groups with key individuals from the community, documentation of group meetings and information exchange within the community

Data analysis: 
Descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis, qualitative content analysis
