Blog
To display news items in the new CMS, you can use the blog function. Two different templates are available for this purpose: the blog overview (called Blog) and the BlogPosts.
The blog page is intended exclusively for publishing news and should not be used for other types of content.
A blog page requires one or more blog posts as subpages. To display these in an overview as shown below, you need to add a Blog Overview widget in a new section. The blog posts will then appear automatically.
If you enter the corresponding publication years of the posts under Page Properties > General > Tags on the blog post subpages, these years will automatically be available as filter options in the Blog Overview widget.
You can also place the Blog Overview widget directly on your homepage if you prefer that layout. The only requirement is that the individual news items have been created using the BlogPost page type. In this case, a separate parent blog page is not necessary.
Archiv
If you wish to continue displaying older news items from your Fiona 7 page on the new website without creating a separate subpage for each individual entry, you can create an archive using an accordion widget.
Generally speaking, however, older news items should not remain on the website permanently. You should therefore regularly delete posts that are no longer needed to avoid unnecessarily increasing the website’s data volume.
