The Faculty of Humanities  Social Sciences also participates in various structured doctoral programmes at the Bayreuth Graduate Centre for Cultural, Social, and Humanities Studies (BayKULT) and at the Bayreuth International Graduate School for African Studies (BIGSAS)..

The Doctoral Committee (Promotionskommission) is responsible for matters related to doctoral studies at the faculty.
